Michael Parenton enters his first season as the Saints' director of pro personnel, a position he was promoted to after a seven-year stint as a pro scout. Michael Parenton enters his first season as the Saints' director of pro personnel, a position he was promoted to after a seven-year stint as a pro scout. Originally joining the organization in 2012 as a scouting assistant, Parenton and his staff are responsible for scouting the Saints' upcoming opponent and presenting weekly reports to the coaching staff, as well as continually evaluating NFL personnel, including active players and free agents.

The former offensive lineman played in two games with the New York Jets in 2009 after being signed by the club as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane University. The team captain was a four-year letterman on the Green Wave's football team and an All-Conference USA selection all four seasons. The Thibodaux native graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and earned a master of accounting degree. He attended E.D. White High School in Thibodaux, where he lettered in both football and track. He was a three-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines and a two-time first team 3A All-State selection.
